Situated on beautiful Oxtongue Lake, the gateway community to Algonquin Park’s western entrance, Algonquin Highlands Trail Riding offers visitors the chance to mosey into the wilderness for an unforgettable journey.

Preserving the natural charm and heritage of trail riding is an important part of Algonquin Highlands Trail Riding. Off the grid and naturally rustic, we have access to 100s of kilometers of picturesque crown land. Our trail rides are led by local, experienced guides, providing riders of all levels with a fun, safe and memorable trek through Ontario's majestic forests.
Trail riding offers everyone the chance to enjoy the local flora and fauna, and inspiring surroundings few have the opportunity to explore. It’s not just a sense of nature that makes horseback trail riding so idyllic, but a sense of history and our inherent bond with horses.
Important: Helmets are provided and recommended for everyone. It is mandatory for riders 17 years old and under to wear a helmet. Children 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult on trail. Footwear with a heel and long pants are highly recommended. Sorry no sandals.

Pony rides give our younger visitors – riders under 10 years of age – the chance to enjoy our facilities and forests. Our pony rides are an escorted mini trail through the surrounding area and around the facilities.
Professional and friendly staff assist the young riders ensuring your child's safety at all times. This hands on, one-on-one approach provides a memorable and entertaining adventure. Cost is $30 for a 20 minute ride.
